Director of Operations
We are seeking a Director of Operations to join our senior leadership team at Borough Market. This is a rare opportunity to take a key role in shaping the day-to-day running of one of London’s most iconic food markets, ensuring its continued success as a world-class destination rooted in community, sustainability, and quality.
As Director of Operations, you will lead and manage the operational activities of the market estate, overseeing key areas including trader development, sustainability, health & safety, and estate management. Working closely with the CEO, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering the business strategy for both the Borough Market Trust and its commercial arm. You will be responsible for managing the operations budget, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring the Market runs smoothly and efficiently every day.
We are looking for a passionate individual with a strong background in operations at a senior level. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of strategic decision-making, financial and commercial acumen, and outstanding people skills. Cleaning Team Leader
We are seeking a Cleaning Team Leader to join our Operations team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of one of London’s most iconic food markets, helping to ensure the smooth running and cleanliness of the site.
You will work closely with Market Supervisors and fellow Team Leaders to oversee the delivery of daily cleaning tasks across the Market, playing a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety and supporting the wider team to ensure the site is always presented at its best. You’ll lead by example on the ground by carrying out tasks, providing clear direction to the team, and acting as a first point of contact for cleanliness-related queries from traders.
We are looking for a proactive and responsible individual with experience in cleaning operations or facilities management. You will have excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of health and safety, and the confidence to direct a team in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset, good communication skills, and a commitment to keeping the Market running efficiently are essential.

Facilities Co-Ordinator
We are pleased to be recruiting a Facilities Co-ordinator to join the team. This is a vital hands-on role at the heart of one of London’s busiest and most iconic destinations, ensuring our unique Market environment is consistently safe, clean, well-maintained, and welcoming for all who visit and work here.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of facilities across the Market site and nearby properties, acting as the first point of contact for maintenance and repair issues. Whether it’s overseeing planned maintenance, carrying out minor repairs, managing contractors, or identifying and resolving issues as they arise, you will be proactive and responsive, helping to ensure the Market operates smoothly and efficiently at all times.
We are looking for a practical, solutions-focused individual with a strong sense of responsibility and excellent attention to detail. You’ll bring relevant experience in facilities or maintenance, great communication skills, and a commitment to high standards. A passion for supporting the work of a values-driven organisation like Borough Market will be essential.

Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community.
