THE ALFAJORES ARE FILLED WITH THE STALL’S FAMOUSLY SWEET AND GOOEY DULCE DE LECHE
Porteña – which means ‘girl from Buenos Aires’ – sells traditional Argentine street food. Specialities include empanadas, hearty pasties with fillings such as spinach and ricotta, ham and cheese, mozzarella and tomato or beef; yerba mate, a South American infusion drunk from a gourd through a filtered straw called a bombilla; and alfajores, homemade biscuits filled with the stall’s famously sweet and gooey, caramel-like dulce de leche.
