Our story
Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.
Connecting through food
Borough Market, we don’t just sell good food and drink, we celebrate it. We enjoy how it tastes and the way it makes us feel, but we also appreciate its ability to connect us to the people who produced it and the places it was made.
